A message from director Shayne Gray:

We had a wonderful year last season and are excited to see the orchestra grow. In the beginning we advertised it as a community based guitar ensemble with the aim of connecting others in the classical guitar community and our expectations were greatly exceeded. The Orchestra came into a life of its own very early on. Members met outside of regular hours to rehearse other repertoire, which included members’ own arrangements and compositions.

We were also extremely pleased with the way the outside community has received the Guitar Orchestra and these smaller ensembles have had several performance opportunities in addition to our regular concerts.

Please join us for another exciting year. We’ve created an overwhelmingly positive and encouraging atmosphere in which to learn, grow and share. Now we welcome you to share your experience, your ideas and, of course, your music!

The orchestra is geared towards guitarists of all levels and we’re all set to begin again this Fall.

All rehearsals take place conveniently at 6 St. Joseph St., centrally located just south of Yonge & Wellesley in the heart of Toronto’s downtown core.

Participation is only $175 for the year (for both the Fall & Spring terms), which represents considerable savings compared to other guitar ensembles in the GTA. To join the group simply download the application form, provide your information, and mail it to the director, Shayne Gray, at sgray@guitarsocietyoftoronto.com, then go to the donations page and make your registration payment of $175 on PayPal as a donation. You will, of course, be issued a tax-deductable receipt for your contribution. We’ll then contact you to confirm your registration. For all other inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
